Cut acorn squash in half and scoop out seeds. Bake face down in 2” of water for 30 mins at 350 degrees. Drain water.
Turn squash right side up. Put butter oil and maple syrup in the hollowed out squash. Sprinkle with a pinch of salt and the brown sugar. Bake another 45 minutes at 350 degrees.
